Lieutenant Commander Preston T. Holt

Lt. Cmdr. Preston T. Holt, a native of Burke, Virginia,  graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He holds a Masters of Professional Studies in Leadership, Education, and Development from University of Maryland. He was commissioned through the Officer Candidate School program in Newport, Rhode Island in September 2008.

Afloat, Holt completed his division officer tours aboard USS Laboon (DDG 58) as the strike warfare officer and USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55) as the navigator. He completed his department head tours aboard USS Truxtun (DDG 103) as the weapons officer and combat systems officer. During his sea tours, he completed four deployments to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility in support of numerous operations.

Ashore, he served as a company officer at the U.S. Naval Academy from 2013 to 2016. In June 2020, he reported to Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) AEGIS Training and Readiness Center (ATRC) as an officer instructor and assumed duties as executive officer in July 2022.

Holt’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards) and various service and campaign awards.
