Major Enrique Rivera

Maj. Enrique Rivera enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in May 2004 and completed basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina. As an enlisted Marine he was designated as an administrative clerk and completed his first enlisted fleet assignment at Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 231, at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina.  While at VMA-231, he was meritoriously promoted to Corporal and selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program. He graduated from Officer Candidate School and The Basic School (TBS) in Quantico, Virginia in 2006, designated as an aircraft maintenance officer. He is a graduate of the Aviation Officer course at Naval Air Station Whiting Field, in Milton, Florida. He has a master’s degree in Public Administration from Park University.

Rivera reported to Marine Air Logistics Squadron (MALS) 14 at MCAS Cherry Point in October 2007, where he served as the Ground Support Equipment Division, Airframes Division and Aviation Life Support Systems division officer in charge.  In May 2009 he deployed to 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) where he assumed the duties as the ground watch officer in Afghanistan.  Upon his return from deployment, Rivera executed orders to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron (VMGR) 252 as the maintenance material control officer.

He reported to Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) Lemoore, California, in July 2011 and assumed the duties as the training officer and the Marine Aviation Detachment officer in charge (OIC).  He reported to MCAS Cherry Point in 2014 where he served as the rotary wing maintenance OIC and in2017, he he reported to 3rd Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan, where he served as the G3 information management officer, staff secretary, and the headquarters company commander.
 
Rivera serves as OIC at CNATT Detachment Camp Pendleton, California.

His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards).
