Command Master Chief Hugh J. Rape

Master Chief Hugh Rape, a native of Lake Placid, Florida, enlisted in the Navy in 1995, and after boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Florida, he attended Operations Specialist "A" School. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 169) and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (Class 136).

His duty assignments include Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3; USNS Pecos (T-AO 197); Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5; Detachment Western Pacific (WESTPAC) Alpha ACU-5; Combined Joint Two Protective Security Detail; Training Support Center Hampton Roads; ACU-4; Navy Personal Command; USS Gettysburg (CG 64); and Mine Division 22.

He reported to Surface Warfare Schools Command as command master chief in August 2022.

He is enlisted surface warfare and Seabee combat warfare qualified. His personal awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various campaign and unit awards.
