Commander Danny Soria

Cmdr. Danny Soria, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, received his commission in 2004 upon graduating from the US Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Astrospace Engineering. He earned a Master of Astrospace Engineering from the Naval Post Graduate School. Additionally, he earned a Master in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

After earning his commission, Cmdr. Soria operationally served as the Electrical, Auxiliaries, and Repair Officer aboard USS Whidbey Island (LSD‐41) and the Operations Officer for detachment 24 and officer of Boat
Team 611 under Mobile Expeditionary Squadron 6 (MESRON 6). Cmdr. Soria’s Engineering Duty Officer (EDO) tours include ship superintendent for several availabilities at Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center (SRFJRMC) detachment Sasebo; Assistant Officer in Charge of Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific detachment Japan; Assistant Program Manager (APM) for PMW 160 in charge Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) at PEO C4I; and Combat Systems Officer on board Dwight Eisenhower (CVN‐69). He participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Inherent Resolve, and Final Countdown. Additionally, he participated in humanitarian disaster relief operations in Louisiana and Lebanon.

Cmdr. Soria has been awarded the Navy Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, in addition to various campaign and unit citations.
