Aviation Electronics Technician Senior Chief Jorge Herrero

Aviation Electronics Technician Senior Chief Jorge Herrero, a native of Mexico City, Mexico, entered the U.S. Navy in March 2002.  He attended Aviation Electronics Technician “A” school at Pensacola, Florida, in June 2004.  

His sea and operational tours include Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 147 from 2002 to 2007, completing two deployments aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and one deployment aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74); Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment, Atsugi, Japan, from 2008 to 2010; VFA-192 from 2011 to 2015, completing two deployments aboard the John C. Stennis; Navy Recruiting District Miami from 2015 to 2017; VFA-41 from 2017 to 2021, completing one deployment aboard the John C. Stennis.

Herrero currently serves as senior enlisted leader, Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Detachment Point Mugu, California.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) and various unit awards. He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 235/Red).
