Lieutenant Steven A. Vigil

Lieutenant Steven A. Vigil is a native of Horse Springs, New Mexico. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management from Denver Institute of Technology. He was commissioned via the LDO/CWO Academy in Newport, Rhode Island.

His sea tours include Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 12, Atsugi, Japan, where he deployed onboard USS Independence (CV 62); Fighter Attack Squadron (VFA) 87, Cecil Field, Florida, deploying on USS Roosevelt (CVN 71) and USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74); USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), San Diego, California; Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 12, Atsugi, Japan, where he deployed onboard USS George Washington (CVN 73), USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), and USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19); and Fleet Readiness Center Northwest Van Operational Detachment, Whidbey Island, Washington, where he deployed to Misawa Air Base, Japan.

His shore tours include Fighter Attack Squadron (VFA) 201, Fort Worth, Texas; Fleet Readiness Center Southwest, San Diego, California; and Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 3, San Diego, California.

He currently serves as officer in charge, Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Detachment Point Mugu, California.

His personal qualifications and decorations include Professional Aviation Maintenance Officer, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and numerous deployment and unit service awards.
