Commander Jason A. Fite

Cmdr. Fite, a native of Houston, Texas, graduated from Texas A&M University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. He commissioned in 2007 through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida, and earned a Master of Divinity in Church History from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2013.
 
At sea, he completed a single long division officer tour aboard USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG 81) where he served as auxiliaries officer, gunnery and ordnance officer, and assistant operations officer. His department head assignments were as weapons officer and combat systems officer aboard USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53), the Navy’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense test ship. Subsequently, he served as the detachment officer in charge, operations officer, and a forward-deployed tactical action officer at the U.S. Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System Romania. His last sea-duty assignment was as the staff director and operations officer (N3) for Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 28.
 
Ashore, he served as the senior naval science instructor and company officer at the Rice Naval ROTC unit, Houston Consortium. 
 
He reported as the executive officer for Mariner Skills Training Center Atlantic in September 2022.  
 
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and the Navy Accession Training Service Ribbon.
