Commander Christopher A. Dumas

Commander Christopher Dumas, a native of Hartford, Connecticut, graduated from the University of Connecticut with an Associates of Applied Science in Horticulture in 2000; Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2002; and from Ashford University with a Masters of Business Administration in 2010. He was commissioned an Ensign through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida on Oct. 31, 2003.

At sea, Dumas served as the air intelligence officer for Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 14 (HS-14), deploying on-board USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) in support of operations in the Western Pacific as part of the Forward Deployed Naval Force homeported in Japan. Additionally, he deployed with HS-14 on-board USNS Stockham (T-AK 3017) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Philippines and humanitarian relief efforts of Joint Task Force 535. Dumas was the intelligence department head for SEAL Team 7 where he deployed to Iraq as the intelligence officer for two counterterrorism joint task forces in support of Operation New Dawn. He also served as the Commander, Carrier Strike Group 1 (CCSG-1) Deputy Intelligence Officer, deploying on-board USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) supporting operations in the Western Pacific.
 
Ashore, Dumas was an instructor at the Fleet Intelligence Training Center in San Diego, Calif., where he earned his Master Training Specialist certification in 2006 and received the Vice Admiral Rufus L. Taylor Award for Excellence in Intelligence Instruction in 2008. He served as a plans and policy officer at the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Defense Combating Terrorism Center (DCTC) in Washington, DC. He also deployed to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom while assigned to DCTC. Dumas then served as a senior watch officer and team lead at the Indo-Pacific Command Joint Intelligence Operations Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. This tour was cut short in 2018 following Dumas’s selection as an Intelligence Junior Officer Detailer at Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tenn., where he served until reporting to Commander, U.S. Third Fleet in 2021 to be the Maritime Intelligence Operations Center Director for his commander milestone assignment until Feb. 2023.
 
Dumas assumed the duties of executive officer for the Center for Information Warfare Training in in March 2023.
 
His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards) in addition to a number of other personal, campaign, and unit awards.
