Lieutenant Commander Michael Millar

Lt. Cdr. Michael Millar, a native of Centennial, Colorado, is a 2006 graduate of University of Colorado at Denver, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He commissioned as a cryptologic warfare officer through Officer Candidate School in 2009.

His tours include: Navy Information Operations Command Georgia, including battle watch captain on the national and naval watch floors and a direct support deployment on USS Ramage (DDG 61); USS James E. Williams (DDG 95) as the signals warfare officer (SIGWO); Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR) Type Commander as an action officer, mission integration team lead, and strategic communications lead; and Carrier Strike Group 9 (CSG-9) as the cryptologic resource coordinator and special security officer.

Millar assumed the duties of executive officer at Information Warfare Training Command San Diego in Mar. 2023.

In 2018, he earned a Master of Arts in executive leadership from Liberty University, and in 2020, he earned a Master of Science in cyber operations from Naval Postgraduate School.

In addition to various campaign, service, and unit awards, Millar’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards).
