Commander Joshua Freeze

Cmdr. Joshua Freeze, a Texas native, graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2005 and was commissioned through the Seaman to Admiral program.  He earned a master’s degree in Systems Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School.  
 
His sea tours include serving aboard USS Elliot (DD 967), USS Constellation (CV 64), and USS Nimitz (CVN 68) as an enlisted damage controlman and master-at-arms.  Post commissioning, he has served as the main propulsion officer aboard USS Lake Champlain (CG 57); OI division officer aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68); combat systems officer and operations officer aboard both USS Coronado (LCS 4) and commissioning crew of USS Jackson (LCS 6); and executive officer aboard both USS Independence (LCS 2) and Coronado. 
 
Ashore, he served as the assistant officer in charge of the Southern California Offshore Range; Mine Countermeasure Ships Surface Requirements officer for Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center’s Mine Warfare Technical Division; and most recently, staff officer for Littoral Combat Ship Squadron ONE. 
 
He reported as commanding officer of Mine Warfare Training Center (MWTC) in May 2023. 

His personal awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal; Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
