Cmdr. Walker, a native of San Diego, Calif., graduated in 2006 from the University of San Diego with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and earned his commission through the Seaman to Admiral program.
 
Walker’s sea-duty enlisted assignments include serving as a sonar technician aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and USS Briscoe (DD 977).
 
His sea-duty officer assignments include deck department’s second division officer and administration division officer, USS Boxer (LHD 4); training officer, USS Shoup (DDG 86); operations officer, USS Warrior (MCM 10); 1st Lt., USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6); and damage control assistant, USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72).
 
Ashore, he served as the trends analysis training officer at Naval Ocean Processing Facility Whidbey Island and maritime pre-positioning forces officer at Naval Beach Group 1.

Walker reported as executive officer to Mine Warfare Training Center in April 2023.
 
His personal awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
