Captain Chad Trubilla

A native of Hometown, Pennsylvania, Capt. Trubilla is a 2001 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and master’s degrees in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He is also a graduate of the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) course 15030, where he was the Arleigh Burke Leadership Award recipient.
 
Trubilla’s sea duty assignments include fire control officer, force protection officer, and assistant chief engineer, USS Howard (DDG 83); mine-countermeasures rotational crew leader as chief engineer, USS Warrior (MCM 10), USS Ardent (MCM 12), USS Dextrous (MCM 13), and USS Scout (MCM 8); chief engineer, USS Lake Champlain (CG 57); and executive officer and subsequently, commanding officer, USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115).
 
Ashore, he has served as an instructor of Seamanship and Navigation at the U.S. Naval Academy; aide and deputy executive assistant to Commander, U.S. 3rd Fleet; IAMD WTI and plankowner for Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) Doctrine and Tactics department, N5; and branch head for SMWDC’s Training and Readiness department, N3/7, and subsequently, SMWDC’s director of Fleet Training - Pacific.
 
He assumed command of Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) San Diego in June 2023.
 
Trubilla is the recipient of various campaign, unit, and personal awards which he faithfully credits to the fine Sailors he has had the honor and privilege to serve alongside.
