Lieutenant Commander Robert Martin

Lt. Cmdr. Rob Martin commissioned from the United States Naval Academy in 2010, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering. He went on to receive a master’s degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.  At sea, he served aboard USS Greeneville (SSN 772) as a Junior Officer as well as USS Hampton (SSN 767) as Engineer Officer where he completed four deployments to the Western Pacific. Martin also served as the Submarine Operations Officer for Destroyer Squadron 21 where he completed an additional Western Pacific deployment aboard USS John C. Stennis alongside Carrier Strike Group 3. Ashore, Martin served as the Engineer Officer and instructor at the Submarine Learning Facility in San Diego, California. He also served as Engineer Officer for Submarine Squadron EIGHT. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He has also been privileged to serve on submarine crews that were awarded 3 Battle “E” awards.
