Commander Alexa Striba

Cmdr. Alexa Striba, a native of Manhattan, New York, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August 1991 and completed recruit training in Orlando, Florida. Upon completion of basic training, she attended Aviation Ordnanceman “A” School at Naval Aviation Technical Training Center (NATTC). She is a 2013 graduate of Ashford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership. She was commissioned through the Limited Duty Officer Program.
Her enlisted assignments include Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia; Patrol Squadron (VP) 10; Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, Florida; VP 8, NAS Jacksonville, Florida; NATTC, Pensacola, Florida; and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71).
As an officer, her operational tours include ordnance officer-in-charge, Camp Mu Juk, Marine Expeditionary Camp, Pohang, Republic of Korea; air gunner, Theodore Roosevelt; weapons assembly division officer, Theodore Roosevelt; ordnance handling officer, USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75); and weapons' department head, USS George H.W Bush (CVN 77).
Her shore tours include air launch weapons team gunner, Strike Fighter Wing Atlantic, NAS Oceana, Virginia; leadership instructor, Center for Personal and Professional Development, Naval Base Dam Neck, Virginia; and weapons division head and command representative on the Weapons Systems Explosive Review Board, Naval Safety Center, Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia.

Striba currently serves as executive officer, Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit Oceana, Virginia.
Her personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and various campaign, unit and service awards. She was selected as the 2018 recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Association Peer-Award for Inspirational Leadership.
