Commander Gary W. Foshee

Cmdr. Foshee, a native of Searcy, Arkansas, enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1990. After four years and an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, he earned a degree in biblical studies from Central Bible College. He then became the senior pastor of Eads Assembly of God Church. Upon completion of his pastoral assignment, he earned a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. 

His assignments include staff chaplain, Training Air Wing 5; command chaplain, USS Green Bay (LPD 20); command chaplain, Combat Logistics Battalion 3; conducted a one-year residency in the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program at Naval Medical Center San Diego, where he did a three-year pay back tour; command chaplain, Naval Special Warfare Group 2; and command chaplain, Naval Support Activity Naples, Italy. 
 
Foshee reported to Naval Chaplaincy School as executive officer in May 2022.

His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy Achievement Medal, and various personal and unit awards.
 

He authored two books: “The Redmadafa” and “Pawned: Redeeming Our God Given Sexuality.”
