Commander Patrick C. Chitty

Cmdr. Chitty, a native of Florence, Alabama, graduated from Auburn University in 2003 with a degree in electrical engineering. He earned his commission through Officer Candidate School, Pensacola, Florida, in 2004. He earned a Master of Science in civil engineering from the University of Alabama.
 
His operational assignments include Convoy Security Element and Detachment officer in charge, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 7; strategy and plans officer, 30th Naval Construction Regiment; and operations officer, NMCB 133.
 
His shore assignments include assistant resident office in charge of construction, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune; aide to commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic; assistant public works officer, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story; production officer and assistant operations officer, NAVFAC Europe-Africa-Central; and operations officer and then executive officer, Office in Charge of Construction Florence.
 
Chitty reported to Naval Construction Training Center Port Hueneme as commanding officer in July 2023.
 
He is a qualified Seabee combat warfare officer. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), Army Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. 
 
He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Virginia, Acquisition Professional Member, and Public Works Department Level III qualified.
