CMDCM (SW/AW) Jeromy M. Hartley

Command Master Chief Hartley is a native of California. He enlisted in the Navy in 1997, and attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL.

He then reported as an undesignated Fireman Recruit to his first command in February 1998, the USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70), stationed in Bremerton, WA. While aboard, he struck into the rate of Damage Controlman.

He has served in a myriad of sea and shore assignments, including the USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), and USS Nimitz (CVN 68). His shore duty assignments include serving as a high risk firefighting instructor at TSC San Diego, Disaster Preparedness Operations and Training Specialist in Okinawa Japan, and at Afloat Training Group Pacific.

He then was selected into the Command Senior Chief program where he had the privilege of serving as the Command Senior Chief aboard USS Ardent (MCM 12). Following his selection to Master Chief Petty Officer in 2018, he has served as the Command Master Chief aboard the USS Sampson (DDG 102), and USS Cape St. George (CG 71).

In June of 2023 he reported to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 1 in San Diego, CA. While embarked aboard USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70), he executed the U.S. 7th Fleet 2023-2024 deployment in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific, and the back-to-back U.S. 7th / 5th Fleet 2024-2025 combat deployment in support of Operation ROUGH RIDER.

He reported to Mariner Skills Training Center Pacific in September 2025.

His academic achievements include the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 199/Brown), Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Capstone Course, and holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), Good Conduct Medal (nine awards), and various other unit and campaign awards
