COMMANDER JENNIFER L. CHARLTON

Cmdr. Jennifer Charlton, a native of Long Island, New York, graduated from Strayer University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and was commissioned in 2007 through Officer Candidate School, Pensacola, Florida. In 2019, she earned a master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Business Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California.

Operationally, she served as assistant supply officer aboard USS Ross (DDG 71), homeported in Norfolk, Virginia. She completed a 12-month Global Support Assignment to Djibouti, Africa as commercial bill pay officer for the entire Horn of Africa Region. She served as supply officer aboard USS Michigan (SSGN 727) (GOLD) completing two deployments, two voyage repair periods, and a maintenance repair period. She also completed two deployments while serving as principal assistant for logistics aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71).

Her shore assignments include commercial bill pay officer at Navy Information Operations Command where she managed the government purchase card program for four geographically separated command locations; aviation support detachment officer with Naval Supply Systems Command, Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk; and integrated weapon system team branch head for common systems with Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support.

Charlton reported to Navy Supply Corps School as executive officer in July 2023.

She is qualified as aviation, submarine, and surface supply corps warfare officer. Her personal decorations include Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), and other unit awards. She also earned both Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1 and Defense Acquisition Professional membership. She was the 2020 recipient of Adm. Stanley R. Arthur Award for Logistics Excellence, Logistics Team of the Year while aboard Theodore Roosevelt.
