Command Master Chief (SCW/EXW/FMF) Buddy A. Parsons

Master Chief Buddy Parsons enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2001 and after boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Construction Electrician "A" School at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences from Thomas Edison University in 2014 and a master’s in Organizational Leadership from the University of Massachusetts Global in 2023. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class #213) and qualified as a master training specialist.
 
His assignments include electrical shop crewmember, Public Works Department Naples, Italy; Seabee engineering reconnaissance team gunner, tactical movement team gunner, and assistant convoy commander, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1, where he deployed to Guam, Japan, and three tours in Iraq; and Construction Electrician/Utilitiesman “A” School instructor, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.
 
In September 2009, he was selected to chief petty officer and volunteered for an Individual Augmentee assignment as regional support command assistant engineer in Kabul, Afghanistan. He then reported to NMCB-11 as detachment officer-in-charge, battalion communications chief, convoy security element commander, bravo company chief, and air detachment operations chief, deploying to Africa, Guam, and Fiji; and Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 303 as headquarters company chief, communications chief, and reserve site supervisor.
 
In June 2016, he was selected to senior chief petty officer and reported to Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest as the senior enlisted advisor. In December 2018, he reported to NMCB-3 and deployed to Okinawa, Iwakuni, and Malaysia. He served as air detachment chief throughout the 2019 homeport and finished his tour as the battalion training chief.
 
In June 2021, he was promoted to master chief petty officer and reported to Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tennessee. He served as lead Seabee detailer for the Naval Construction Force, department leading chief petty officer, and rating assignment officer.
 
Parsons reported to Naval Construction Training Center Gulfport as command master chief in May 2023.
 
His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Air Force Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
