Lieutenant Commander Juan A. Lucero

Lt. Cmdr. Juan A. Lucero, a native of Rota, Spain, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April 1994 and was commissioned through the Limited Duty Officer program in March 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (June 2005) and a Master of Business Administration (July 2013) from Saint Leo University. 

His enlisted assignments include aviation support equipment technician aboard USS America (CV 66); support equipment technician at Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD), Naval Air Station Sigonella; Naval Air Station Oceana, AIMD; 900 Division leading petty officer and AIMD production control leading petty officer aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71); and an instructor at Naval Air Technical Training Center.

His officer assignments include Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 15, where he served as assistant maintenance officer, quality assurance officer, maintenance and material control officer (MMCO) and detachment maintenance officer (DETMO) in U.S. 5th Fleet;  Commander, Helicopter Combat Wing Pacific (COMHSCWINGPAC) as readiness officer, inspection/training team lead and budget officer; Carrier Fleet Logistics Squadron (VRC) 30 as MMCO and DETMO; Fleet Readiness Center East McGuire Detachment as assistant officer in charge; Commander, Naval Air Forces (CNAF) as an aviation maintenance management team officer, where he was assigned to lead the Organizational Level Maintenance Management (OLMM) implementation and training team to train and implement OLMM on all Navy and Marines Corps type/model/series communities; lead for the Naval Sustainability System-Aviation organization level pillar; and Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) as the Ready Relevant Learning program manager.

Lucero reported to CNATT Detachment Eglin Air Force Base as officer in charge in August 2023.

He is designated a Professional Aviation Maintenance Officer and completed his Production, Quality and Maintenance Acquisition Level II certification. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards). He was selected as the Airborne Command and Control and Logistics Wing Maintenance Officer of the Year for Fiscal Year 2016.
