CMDCM(SW/FMF/AW) Katie P. Coleman

Command Master Chief Katie Coleman, a native of Marysville, California, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1997, and after attending boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, she attended Hospital Corpsman “A” School, Great Lakes, Illinois.

Her operational tours include USS McFaul (DDG 74); 2 nd Marine Logistics Group, completing two tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; USS Vella Gulf (CG 72); USS Boxer (LHD 4), as a part of Casualty Receiving Treatment Ship platform for Operation Iraqi Freedom; and 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit supporting the Global War on Terrorism, NATO Forces, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Azada Wosa; and pre-commissioning units Thomas Hudner (DDG 116) and Fleet Logistics Multi-Mission Squadron (VRM) 40.

Her shore assignments include Naval Medical Center Portsmouth; Naval Medical Center San Diego; Naval School Health Science Surface Force Independent Duty Corpsman School; Assault Craft Unit Four; and Command Naval Surface Forces Pacific Fleet; and Naval Health Clinic Patuxent River.

Coleman reported to Naval Leadership and Ethics Command Dam Neck as command master chief in September 2023.

Master Chief Coleman is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 193, Orange Group, and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course, Class 120. Her personal decorations include Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy Achievement Medal (five awards), Air Force Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
