Command Master Chief Norman W. Clarke

Command Master Chief Norman W. Clarke, a native of Springfield, Massachusetts, enlisted in the Navy in October 1995, and after boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Auxiliaryman "C" School at Basic Enlisted Submarine School.
 
At sea, he served aboard USS Pittsburgh (SSN 720), completing three deployments to U.S. 5th and 6th Fleets; auxiliary division leading petty officer and auxiliary division leading chief petty officer aboard USS Albuquerque (SSN 706), completing two deployments to U.S. 6th Fleet; maintenance and material management coordinator aboard USS San Juan (SSN 751), completing a deployment to U.S. 5th and 6th Fleets; chief of the boat aboard USS New Mexico (SSN 779); and USS Frank Cable (AS 40).  
 
Ashore, he attended Naval Submarine School where he earned the Master Training Specialist certification; superintendent at Naval Submarine Support Facility; machinery shop leading chief petty officer at Naval Submarine Support Facility; and command master chief at Regional Support Group/Naval Submarine Support Facility New London.
 
Clarke reported to Submarine Learning Center as command master chief in June 2023.
 
His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and various campaign and unit and awards.
