Lieutenant Commander Jonathan Erwert

Lt. Cmdr. Jonathan Erwert, a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School.
 

His operational assignments include Naval Information Operations Command Georgia where he deployed to U.S. 5th and 6th Fleets as a submarine direct support officer; staff cryptologist for Submarine Squadron 21/Commander, Task Force 54; and cryptologic resource coordinator for Carrier Strike Group 12 during the inaugural deployment of USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78).

Ashore, he served on the Chief of Naval Personnel staff (OPNAV N1) where he worked on updating and transitioning the Navy’s legacy pay and personnel systems to a cloud-based architecture; and as a cryptologic resource coordinator instructor at Information Warfare Training command (IWTC) Corry Station.

He reported to IWTC Corry Station as executive officer in May 2024.

Erwert is designated a cryptologic warfare officer. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various unit and campaign awards.
