Lieutenant Commander Christopher L. Phillips

Lt. Cmdr. Christopher Phillips, a native of Riverside, California, graduated in 2011 from the U.S. Naval Academy with a bachelor's degree in Political Science. He graduated from Naval Postgraduate School with a Master of Science in Defense Analysis.

His operational and shore assignments include officer-in-charge, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 8, Platoon 8-1-1; officer-in-charge, EODMU 8, Platoon 8-0-1; officer-in-charge, EODMU 11, Platoon 11-4-1; EOD officer, Carrier Strike Group 10; operations officer, EODMU 5; deputy current operations, Joint Special Operations Command.

Phillips reported to Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal as executive officer in May 2024.

He is qualified in an EOD officer, EOD diver, and naval parachutist (freefall). His personal decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (with Valor), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two
awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
