Lt. Cmdr. Aaron Kalfus graduated in 2010 from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and earned his commission through Officer Candidate School. He graduated in 2016 from George Washington University with a Master of Arts in Leadership Education and Development.
 
His operational tours include USS Santa Fe (SSN 763) and USS Indiana (SSN 89).
 
His shore tours include company officer and battalion executive officer at the U.S. Naval Academy and fleet integration director at the Submarine Learning Center. 
 
He reported to Trident Training Facility Kings Bay as executive officer in September 2022.
