Captain Benjamin C. Pollock

Captain Pollock is a native of Ithaca, New York. He is a graduate of Cornell University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and received his commission through the Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps in May of 2001.

Pollock’s early operational assignments include various junior officer assignments in USS SPRINGFIELD (SSN 761) homeported in Groton, Connecticut, where he completed one deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and a Depot Maintenance Period; Navigation and Operations Officer in USS MICHIGAN (SSGN 727) (BLUE) homeported in Bangor, Washington, during her first two SSGN deployment cycles; and Executive Officer for USS PENNSYLVANIA (SSBN 735) (BLUE) homeported in Bangor, Washington, where he completed three Strategic Deterrent Patrols.

Pollock’s shore assignments include serving as the Branch Chief for Strategic Deterrence Policy on the Staff of the Chief of Naval Operations in Washington, DC; the Executive Officer of the Operations, Evaluation, and Training Test Branch for the Director of Strategic Systems Programs in Washington, DC; Operations Officer for Commander, Submarine Squadron ELEVEN in San Diego, California; and a Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile Planner for the United States Strategic Command in Omaha, Nebraska. Additionally, he completed a one-year Individual Augmentee assignment to Afghanistan in support of the Global War on Terror in 2012.

His Command tour includes USS WYOMING (SSBN 742) (BLUE) homeported in Kings Bay, Georgia, where he completed an Engineered Refueling Overhaul; a homeport shift to Kings Bay, Georgia; and one Strategic Deterrent Patrol.

In August 2025, Captain Pollock assumed the duties as Commanding Officer of TRIDENT Training Facility, Bangor. He is responsible for operational, strategic, and maintenance training to 23 Pacific Northwest submarine crews, nuclear reactor training to two aircraft carriers, and Integrated Undersea Surveillance Systems training to the United States Pacific Fleet.

Captain Pollock is authorized to wear the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various Unit and Campaign citations.
