Lt. Jasen Nickman, a native of Pleasanton, Nebraska, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2011 as a construction electrician. He earned his commission through the Limited Duty Officer program in 2019.

His assignments include Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 11, where he deployed to Afghanistan, Burkina Faso and Djibouti; Center for Seabees Facilities and Engineer Detachment Sheppard Air Force Base; Civil Engineer Corps Officers School, Basic Class 268; NMCB 5 as assistant training officer; and NMCB 27 as Reserve support staff officer in charge and assistant training officer.
 
He reported to Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering Detachment Fort Leonard Wood as officer in charge in June 2024.
 
Nickman is designated a Seabee warfare specialist. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards) and various unit and service-related awards.
