Captain Andrew J. Klug

Capt. Andrew Klug, a native of Wheeling, West Virginia, graduated in 1999 from Bethany College with a Bachelor of Arts in English. He was commissioned through Officer candidate School in 2000. He earned a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.

At sea, he served as main propulsion division officer and navigator aboard USS Portland (LSD 37); navigator aboard USS Ponce (LPD 15); chief engineer aboard USS Avenger (MCM 1); commanding officer aboard PC Crew Foxtrot; and executive and commanding officer aboard USS William P. Lawrence (DDG 110).

His shore assignments include surface training requirements officer in both Office of Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) N15 and OPNAV N96; deputy and chief of staff at Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific; integrated air and missile defense branch chief at U.S. European Command; and director of mariner skills training at Surface Warfare Schools Command (SWSC).

He reported to SWSC as executive officer in April 2024.
