Captain Stephen M. Froehlich

Capt. Stephen Froehlich, a native of Houston, Texas, graduated in 1997 from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. He graduated from Norwich University in 2013 with a master's in Public Administration and University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School in 2022 with a master's in Business Administration.

His operational assignments include Helicopter Anti-submarine Squadron (HSL) 43; USS Juneau (LPD 10); detachment officer in charge of HSL-51 embarked aboard USS McCampbell (DDG 85); commanding officer of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 51; navigator aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68), where he deployed to U.S. 3rd, 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operation in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Carrier Strike Group operations; chief of staff of Carrier Strike Group 3; and executive officer and commanding officer of USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7).  
 
Ashore, he served as aide to the Commandant of the Joint Forces Staff College; fleet replacement squadron maintenance officer of HSM-41; and branch chief in U.S. Strategic Command's Plans and Policy Directorate (J-5).
