Commander Christopher S. Osipower

Cmdr. Chris Osipower, a native of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, graduated in 2006 from the U.S. Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. He holds a master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
 
His operational assignments include platoon commander at Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 8 and EODMU 3, where he deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn; department head tour at Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit 1, where he deployed to Bahrain and Djibouti as the operations officer of Commander Task Group (CTG) 56.1/52.3; completed multiple tours at Fort Liberty, serving as troop commander, operations officer and forward task force commander, where he deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve; and Joint Special Operations Command EOD branch chief and member of the Commander’s Action Group.
 
Ashore, he served as officer in charge at EODMU 3 Detachment Middle Pacific and executive officer at Navy Experimental Diving Unit.

Osipower reported to Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center as commanding officer in July 2024.

He is designated an explosive ordnance disposal officer.
