Lieutenant Commander Ian Meredith

Lt. Cmdr. Ian Meredith, a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, graduated in 2010 from the U.S. Naval Academy with a bachelor's degree in political science. He graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School with a Master of Science in operations research.
 
At sea, he served as electrical officer and 1st lieutenant aboard USS Gettysburg (CG 64), where he served as the integrated air and missile defense commander for the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) Carrier Strike Group (CSG) during its maiden deployment to U.S. 5th Fleet; navigator aboard USS Stockdale (DDG 106), where he completed a 10-month deployment to U.S. 5th Fleet; operations officer aboard USS Mason (DDG 87), where he completed a deployment to U.S. 5th and 6th Fleets with the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) CSG; operations officer aboard USS San Jacinto (CG 56), where following a surge deployment to U.S. Africa Command area of operations, he deployed to U.S. 6th Fleet with the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 72) CSG during the Russian invasion of Ukraine 
 
Ashore, he served in the Metrics and Analysis division supporting officer and enlisted community managers at Bureau of Naval Personnel 34; and officer of the deck director at Mariner Skills Training Center Atlantic (MSTCLANT).

He reported to MSTCLANT as executive officer in August 2024.
 
Meredith’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (three awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
