Captain Ryan C. Schleicher

Capt. Ryan C. Schleicher, a native of Oregon, graduated in 1998 from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in biology and earned his commission through the Navy ROTC program. He completed Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training in 2000.

His operational assignments include SEAL Team 1, Naval Special Warfare Development Group, SEAL Team 5, SEAL Team 3, and Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Arabian Peninsula/Task Force 3, where he completed multiple deployments to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and U.S. Central Command areas of responsibilities, including support to Operations Enduring Freedom-Philippines, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan, New Dawn and Inherent Resolve.

His shore tours include Naval Special Warfare Center BUD/S Third Phase division officer; Naval Special Warfare Group (NSWG) 1 Training Detachment officer in charge; NSWG 1 director of operations and chief staff officer; and Naval Special Warfare Command assistant chief of staff for operations.

Schleicher reported to Naval Special Warfare Leadership Education and Development Command as commanding officer in September 2024.
