Mr. Mike Cummings

Michael D. Cummings joined the U.S. Navy in 1989. He holds a bachelor’s degree in work force education and training from Southern Illinois University, a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of New Haven and a graduate certificate in human resource management.   
 
His military assignments include USS Kamehameha (SSBN-642), USS Tunny (SSN-682), USS Alabama (SSBN 731), USS Georgia (SSGN 729), Trident Training Facility Bangor, Submarine Group 9 and Submarine Squadron 22. He retired from active duty in 2006. 
 
His navy civilian assignments include Submarine Learning Center (SLC); lead training support analyst for the Virginia-Class Program Office at Naval Sea Systems Command for Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division; surface fleet navigation mission chair and assistant program manager for undersea combat systems at Naval Sea Systems Command; branch head for Ready Relevant Learning at Naval Education and Training Command; and fleet training program manager at the International Program Office, Naval Sea System Command, Australia, United Kingdom and United States (AUKUS).

Cummings reported to the Submarine Learning Center as executive director in June 2024.
