Lt. Cmdr. Wesley I. Jahraus, a native of Hilo, Hawaii, graduated in 2010 from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.

His operational assignments include division officer aboard USS Jimmy Carter (SSN 23); and weapons officer aboard USS Pasadena (SSN 752) and USS Alexandria (SSN 757), where he led his department through an inter-fleet transfer through the Panama Canal and a Western Pacific deployment.

His shore assignments include anti-submarine warfare instructor, Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center; and tactics director, Submarine Training Facility (STF) San Diego.

Jahraus reported to STF San Diego as executive officer in April 2023. 
 
His personal awards include the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 Awards), and various campaign and unit awards.
