Command Master Chief Angellus E. Garcia

Command Master Chief Angellus E. Garcia, a native of San Diego, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2000 and after graduating boot camp from Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Basic Enlisted Training at Naval Submarine School, followed by Submarine Communications “A” School. He graduated in 2019 from the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and in 2020 from the Chief of the Boat/Command Master Chief program.

His operational assignments include USS Henry M. Jackson (SSBN 730) (Gold), where he completed seven deterrent patrols; USS Pennsylvania (SSBN 735) (Blue), where he completed one deterrent patrol; USS Michigan (SSGN 727) (Blue), where he completed three Western Pacific deployments to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR); USS Connecticut (SSN 22), where he completed an Arctic and Western Pacific patrol; chief of the boat aboard USS Michigan (SSGN 727) (Blue), where he completed two Western Pacific patrols to the U.S. 7th Fleet AOR.

His shore assignments include Commander, Submarine Squadron 19; and Commander, Submarine Development Squadron 5.

He reported to Submarine Training Facility San Diego as command master chief in September 2024.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards) and various campaign and unit awards.
