Lieutenant Commander Douglas C. Wilkins

Lt. Cmdr. Douglas Wilkins, a native of Lake Worth, Florida, graduated in 2010 from the University of South Florida and earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and received his commission through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps program.
 
His sea duty assignments include gunnery officer and force protection officer, USS Mustin (DDG 89); fire control officer, USS Shoup (DDG 86); and plans and tactics officer and combat systems officer, USS Lake Champlain (CG 57). He completed multiple deployments to U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility and supported the 2011 tsunami relief efforts in Japan while aboard Mustin.
 
Ashore, he served at the Center for Surface Combat Systems Detachment San Diego as the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) lead, providing air, surface and ballistic missile defense training for deploying ships. Following his department head tours, he served at the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center Surface Warfare Technical Division in the Capabilities Development Branch, supporting Aegis baseline development and emerging combatant capabilities. 
 
He reported to Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) as executive officer in November 2024.
 
Wilkins’ personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, as well as various unit, campaign, and service awards. He is also a graduate of the IAMD Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) program.
