Master Chief Petty Officer Ryan Gray

Master Chief Petty Officer Ryan Gray, a native of Bakersfield, California, enlisted in the Navy in October 2000. After recruit training at Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to his first duty station at Beachmaster Unit 1 out of Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California.
 
At sea, his assignments include USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) from 2004 to 2007 and USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108) from 2009 to 2014. As command master chief, he served with Strike Fighter Squadron 37 (VFA-37), also known as the “Ragin’ Bulls,” from 2018 to 2021 before completing his most recent tour aboard the Bainbridge from 2021 to 2024.
 
Ashore, he served at Navy Recruiting District Atlanta and was command master chief of USS Constitution, also known as Old Ironsides, the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world.
 
In July 2024, Gray became command master chief at Information Warfare Training Command Virginia Beach.
 
His military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (eight awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
