Master Chief Clifton Setty, a native of Fresno, California, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1999, and after graduating boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Construction Mechanic “A” School. He graduated from the University of La Verne with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management. 

His assignments include Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, where he deployed to Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, Okinawa, Cuba and Japan; equipment inspector and work center supervisor, R46 Maintenance Dept., 31^st Seabee Readiness Group Port Hueneme; heavy shop supervisor, work center supervisor, embark leading petty officer and convey security commander, NMCB 40, where he deployed to Kuwait, Okinawa and Afghanistan; maintenance chief for Naval Construction Center equipment maintenance support, Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center; Alfa Company maintenance chief, Alfa Company chief, Air Detachment Company chief and San Clemente Island assistance officer in charge, NMCB 3, where he deployed to Okinawa and San Clemente Island; Alfa Company commander, Naval Construction Training Center (NCTC) Port Hueneme; Alfa Company chief, NMCB 5; and N72 Division course director and instructor, Naval Civil Engineer Corps Officer School.
 
He reported to NCTC Port Hueneme as command master chief in July 2024.   

Setty's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), and various other campaign and service awards. Setty is Seabee warfare, expeditionary warfare and master training specialist qualified.
