Captain Danny Soria

Capt. Danny Soria, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, graduated in 2004 from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Astrospace Engineering. He earned a Master of Astrospace Engineering from the Naval Post Graduate School and a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
 
His tours include electrical, auxiliaries, and repair officer aboard USS Whidbey Island (LSD-41); operations officer for Detachment 24 and officer in charge of Boat Team 611 under Mobile Expeditionary Squadron 6; ship superintendent at Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center Detachment Sasebo; assistant officer in charge of Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific Detachment Japan; assistant program manager for Program Management Warfare 160 in charge of the Automated Digital Network System at Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence; and combat systems officer aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69). He participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Inherent Resolve and Final Countdown. Additionally, he participated in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in Louisiana and Lebanon.
 
Soria reported to Engineering Duty Officer School as executive officer and senior course director in December 2022.
 
His personal awards include the Navy Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various campaign and unit citations.
