Master Chief Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician Timothy L. Garman

Master Chief Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician Timothy L. Garman, a native of Britt, Iowa, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1994, and after completing bootcamp at Naval Training Center Orlando, he attended Nuclear Power “A” School and Nuclear Prototype Training. He is a graduate of the Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 25).

His operational assignments include USS Key West (SSN 722), completing two Western Pacific deployments; EOD Mobile Unit 8 and 1, where he deployed multiple times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn; Special Operations Command Europe; and Combined Joint Interagency Task Force-Gallant Phoenix.  

Ashore, he served as Training Department leading chief petty officer at EOD Training and Evaluation Unit 1; Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction Branch senior enlisted advisor and Navy Element senior enlisted leader at Special Operations Command Pacific; command master chief at Commander, Counter Mine Response 5/Combined Task Force-52; and command senior enlisted leader at Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve.

Garman reported to Center for Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Diving Det. Great Lakes as senior enlisted leader in January 2025.

His personal awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
