Chief Aviation Machinist’s Mate Arturo Mendoza, a native of Compton, California, joined the U.S. Navy in March 2009. He completed aviation machinist’s mate “A” school in Pensacola, Florida, in August 2009.
His tours include: Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 10 from 2009 to 2011; Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 78 from 2011 to 2015, during which he deployed aboard USS Kidd (DDG 100); Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) North Island from 2015 to 2018; Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 4 from 2018 to 2022 during which he deploymed aboard the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70). He reported to Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit Lemoore Detachment Point Mugu in September 2022.
He began serving as CNATTU Lemoore Det. Point Mugu’s acting senior enlisted leader in October 2024.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) and various unit awards.
