Cmdr. Hasely K. Clarke, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, began his U.S. Navy career in October 1994 as an undesignated airman recruit. He was commissioned through the Limited Duty Officer program in April 2009. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics and a master’s in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

His enlisted assignments include: Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 146, aboard the USS Nimitz (CVN-68) and as a plank owner with VFA 122. He made chief petty officer during his tenure with VFA-2 in Atsugi, Japan. He later returned to VFA-122, where he received the “Maintenance Chief of the Year” award.

Upon commissioning, his operational assignments include: VFA-147 and VFA-192. In 2017, he was selected as the Commander, Strike Fighter Wing Pacific (CSFWP) Maintenance Officer of the Year. He also contributed significantly as the Maintenance Officer for Carrier Air Wing One (CVW-1).

His shore tours include: Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW), Strike Fighter Wing Pacific (CSFWP) in Lemoore, California, and Naval Test Wing Pacific (NWTP) in Pt. Mugu, California.

He began serving at executive officer at the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit North Island, California, in April 2025.

His personal awards include: the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various unit and campaign medals.

In 2014, he was designated as a Professional Aviation Maintenance Officer (PAMO) and joined the Acquisition Professional Community in 2024.
