Lieutenant Commander Alexander Lehman

Lt. Cmdr. Alexander Lehman, a native of Merchantville, New Jersey, is a 2012 graduate of Villanova University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in comprehensive science and commissioned as a surface warfare officer through the Navy ROTC program. In 2016, he made a lateral transfer into the meteorology and oceanography community. Lehman earned a Master of Science in meteorology and physical oceanography in 2022 from Naval Postgraduate School.

His tours include: USS Bunker Hill (CG-52) as gunnery/ordnance officer; USS Ashland (LSD-48) as assistant operations officer, where he completed multiple 7th Fleet patrols; Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command as 3rd/7th Fleet desk team lead, where he coordinated enterprise support for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command’s area of responsibility; and USS Tripoli (LHA-7) as the ship’s meteorology and oceanography officer.

Lehman assumed duties as executive officer at Information Warfare Training Command San Diego in March 2025.

In addition to various campaign, service and unit awards, Lehman’s decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards).

Lapse in Appropriations: The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025.
Military personnel will continue in normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
