Lieutenant Commander Katherine Wright

Lt. Cmdr. Katherine Wright is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a biology degree in 2008 and was commissioned in 2012 through Officer Candidate School. Wright holds a master’s degree in computer science from Naval Postgraduate School.
 
Her assignments include: Naval Information Operations Command Hawaii as deputy training director; USS Stockdale (DDG-106), which included a 7th Fleet deployment; NIOC Texas as 600 Combat Mission Team commander and U.S. Fleet Forces Command as cryptologic resource coordinator. Most recently, Wright served as Cryptologic Resource Coordinator Course instructor at Information Warfare Training Command Corry Station in Pensacola, Florida.
 
She assumed duties as IWTC Corry Station executive officer in May 2025.
 
Wright is designated as a cryptologic warfare officer. Her military decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit awards.
