Captain Chance Litton

Captain Chance Litton graduated from high school at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico, and commissioned through NROTC at Texas A&M University with a degree in Physics. He also earned a Master of Science degree in Physics in the Space Systems Engineering program at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA.  While in Monterey, he helped found the TINYSCOPE project, an effort to build an imaging nano-satellite capable of near real-time, space-based imaging which contributed to several actualized nano-satellite systems.

His afloat assignments are the USS Tucson (SSN 770), USS Maine (SSBN 741), USS Providence (SSN 719), and the USS Chicago (SSN 721).

His ashore assignments include Submarine Squadron Twenty, Submarine Squadron Four, and he served as a fellow on the staff of Congressman Mike Rogers, now Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.  His most recent assignment was as the Chief of the United States European Command’s Nuclear Enterprise Division in Stuttgart, Germany before assuming command of the U.S. Naval Submarine School in June 2025.
