Lieutenant Commander Christopher J. Wilson

Lt. Cmdr. Christopher Wilson, a native of Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, graduated from University of North Carolina Wilmington with Bachelor of Science degrees in marine biology and environmental science in 2007. In 2011, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in marine science from University of Texas at Austin. Wilson commissioned through Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, as a meteorology and oceanography officer in 2013.
 
Wilson’s shore tours include training and readiness officer at Fleet Weather Center Norfolk, Virginia; officer in charge of Naval Oceanography Anti-Submarine Warfare Detachment Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; Secretary of the Navy Tour with Industry fellow at Hydroid Inc.; and senior watch officer and 4th Fleet desk officer for Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.
 
At sea, he served as the staff meteorology and oceanography officer and knowledge manager for Carrier Strike Group 9. Wilson also stood watch as afloat battle watch captain during its 2024 deployment throughout the Indo-Pacific Command and Central Command areas of responsibility.
 
He assumed duties as executive officer at Information Warfare Training Command Monterey in April 2025.
 
Wilson has authored four scientific publications and earned the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards) and a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
