Yeoman Master Chief Karen E. Tower, a native of Cookeville, Tennessee, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June 2000. Following basic training, she completed Yeoman A-School. Her academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Chaminade University of Honolulu, the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, and the Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy. At sea, her assignments include Patrol Squadron FOUR, Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) SEVEN permanently embarked on the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) and USS Rushmore (LSD 47), Task Force 134, Special Project TWO. Ashore, she has served at Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet; Joint Intelligence Operations Center-Hawaii; U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy; Navy Personnel Command; and Center for Service Support. Tower completed ground deployments in Iraq, Djibouti, and Kuwait, as well as multiple shipboard deployments in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility. She assumed the duties as the Senior Enlisted Leader, Center for Service Support in July 2025. Her personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards); Joint Service Achievement, Joint Service Commendation, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (seven awards); Military Volunteer Service Medal (two awards); and other personal, unit and service decorations.
