Lieutenant Commander Hungchi Lee

Lt. Cmdr. Hungchi Lee, a native of Pingtung, Taiwan, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2000.  He graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with a Bachelor of Science in electronic systems technologies in 2009,  University of Maryland Global Campus with a Master of Science in transformational leadership in 2024, and completed Joint Professional Military Education Phase One in 2025.  He earned his commission through the Limited Duty Officer program in 2012.

His enlisted assignments include USS Duluth (LPD 6); Naval Air Station North Island; Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa; USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6); and USS Essex (LHD 2).

Lee’s sea duty officer assignments include electronics material officer for USS Decatur (DDG 73), deputy material and logistics (N4) for Commander, Task Force 70/Commander, Carrier Strike Group 5, and combat systems and electronics material officer for USS Tripoli (LHA 7).   
Ashore, he served as communications, weapons, and information systems (N6) at Commander, Naval Surface Group Western Pacific and deputy repair officer U.S. Naval Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center.

Lee reported as commanding officer, Surface Combat Systems Training Command Western Pacific in April 2024.   
 
He earned his Surface Warfare Officer and Information Warfare Officer qualifications. His awards include various individual, campaign and service awards.
