Lieutenant Commander Keith R. Lemak

Lt. Cmdr. Keith Lemak is a native of Fort Plain, New York.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in January 2005 and reported to basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois.  Following basic training, he attended Operations Specialist “A” School in Dam Neck, Virginia where he graduated at the top of his class.  He earned his commission through the Limited Duty Officer Program in 2014 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Management from University of Phoenix.

At sea, Lemak served aboard USS Gettysburg (CG 64), completing three deployments to U.S. 4th, 5th, and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility (AOR); Commander, Destroyer Squadron (CDS) 50 where he was awarded U.S. 5th Fleet Sailor of the Year in support of Commander, Task Force (CTF) 55, CTF 152, and CDS 50 operations; USS Roosevelt (DDG 80) as operations intelligence (OI) division’s leading chief petty officer (LCPO), with deployments to U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet AOR; USS The Sullivans (DDG 68) as combat information center officer and assistant operations officer, with deployments to U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet AOR; and USS Tripoli (LHA 7) as assistant operations officer where led the ship through a successful Selected Restricted Availability and the basic and advanced phases of training in support of Tripoli’s homeport change to Sasebo, Japan.

Ashore, he served as the training department LCPO at Tactical Air Control Squadron 12; 7th Marine Regiment’s naval gunfire liaison officer at 1st Marine Division Detachment Twentynine Palms; and operations officer, N3, in support of 15 Littoral Combat Ships at Commander, Littoral Combat Ship Squadron One. 

Lemak reported as officer in charge, Surface Combat Systems Training Command Det Southwest in October 2025.

He earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist designations and Air Intercept Controller Supervisor qualification.  His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (eight awards), Good Conduct Medal (three awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
