Lieutenant William D. Gaddy

Lt. William Gaddy is a native of Jacksonville, Florida.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2006 and completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois.  He earned his commission through the Limited Duty Officer program in 2019.

Gaddy’s enlisted operational tours include USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), USS George Washington (CVN 73), USS Anzio (CG 68), USS Mason (DDG 87), and Mobile Tactical Operations Command Three (MTOC 3).  He has deployed to the Arctic, U.S. 4th Fleet, U.S. 5th Fleet, U.S. 6th Fleet, and U.S. 7th Fleet in support of Operation Prosperity Guardian, Operation Enduring Freedom, Continuing Promise, Ballistic Missile Defense, Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft support, and cruise missile defense in the Red Sea.

His sea duty officer assignments include USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54) where he served as assistant operations officer and USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) where he served as air defense officer. 

Gaddy reported as officer in charge, Surface Combat Systems Training Command Det Europe May 2025.

His awards and decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Flag Letter of Commendation, and various unit and campaign awards.
